Crossing the Line

This past weekend was very eventful. My husband and I had the honor of attending a private party hosted by Dan Miller, author of the book 48 Days to the Work You Love. I had the pleasure of having Dan Miller specifically speak to me about the Healed Whole New Ministry. I am still overwhelmed by the advice he gave.

We also had the pleasure of spending a couple of hours with our dear friends who also serve as fantastic mentors to us. This couple owns their own business and are also full blown Christians. They love Jesus and they are so blessed in the business side of their lives. Tony and I love hearing them speak. They are so energetic and fully believe that every good and perfect gift is from above.

From the time I was a young girl I knew I would write a book. I remember trying to write it years ago but I had no idea what to write about. It wasn’t until I walked out of anxiety and depression that that Lord said “This is what you will write about.” So now I embark on a journey to write a book. I’m excited!

For so many years I thought I would sing. I finally had the opportunity to pursue music, everything seemed to line up just right and then the Lord spoke to me and said, “You are not going to sing, you’re going to speak.” I was filled with so much joy knowing that the Lord had given me such a clear cut word. There was no more guessing – I would speak.

A few months later I hosted the first Healed Whole New Conference called The Stand Firm Conference. It was a great turnout for a chick who was speaking out for the first time to a group about what God had done in her life. I could feel the Spirit of the Lord upon me as I was speaking and knew that I was made to speak.

Speaking and writing go hand in hand so now I begin this book. It has always been a dream of mine to write a book and so here I go! I would appreciate and covet your prayers along the way.

So why did I title this blog “Crossing the Line”? For me to write this book is really stepping over the line for me. I come from a background where you don’t dream, you don’t explore, and you don’t cross over the line of the unknown. My precious friend has said so many times to me, “You have to get comfortable with the uncomfortable.” So that’s what I’m doing. I’m crossing over the line. Might I, April Poynter, be an author and speaker? Why yes, why yes I am. Who says I can’t be? We are our own worst enemies and our own worst critics. We have to change our way of thinking. Imagine the possibilities if we truly believed in ourselves! We are so tough on others who come against us or say negative things towards us but check your heart and see how often you are defeating yourself in your own mind.

So here goes – I’m crossing the line, the line placed in front of me from family history, the line I’ve placed in front of myself through my own negative thoughts and doubt, the line the enemy says I can’t cross because I’m not good enough, smart enough, equipped enough … yeah, that line – I’m crossing over!

I'd love to hear your thoughts!
